At the beginning of January, the Elders will be sharing with the church their draft framework around marriage, divorce, sexuality and gender. It is not final, but a starting point for ongoing church-wide reflection and conversation. Through the Learning Streams, sermons, listening spaces, and prayerful discussion, we seek to grow together in wisdom, guided by the Holy Spirit, Scripture, and the example of Christlike love.

Our hope is to be a community that honours God while holding space for real human stories, supporting one another to follow Jesus honestly, courageously, and faithfully—in all areas of life. We remain open to the Spirit's leading, trusting that God will continue shaping us into a church marked by love, integrity, humility, and welcome, and we invite all of St John's to walk with us in this ongoing discernment.

We wanted to make this 7 week Learning Stream as accessible as possible so everyone can be part of the process and feel heard. We are asking connect groups to make this a priority over regular meetings, and groups can request a table so their members can sit together for discussions.

Our time together will explore the questions, studies and material that led to the framework, giving plenty space for discussion, and including a prayer and listening lunch as we discern together.
