Joining with what God is already doing
At St John’s, mission grows out of a simple conviction:God is already at work and we are invited to join Him. Mission is not something separate from church life. It flows from following Jesus together, in ordinary places and everyday relationships. Much of it happens quietly and faithfully, shaped by long-term commitment rather than quick results. We are learning not to try to do everything, but to pay attention; asking where God may be inviting us to respond together.
Everyday Mission
We believe faith is lived out across daily life; in workplaces, schools, homes, and neighbourhoods.
Mission is not primarily about programmes. It is about people; ordinary disciples learning to recognise where God is present and active.

We also seek to create accessible and welcoming spaces where people can explore faith honestly and at their own pace.
Mission in Our Community
Being based at the Low Port Centre has deepened our understanding of mission. Sharing space with many others throughout the week creates natural opportunities for hospitality, service, and conversation.
Locally, this includes involvement in community life, supporting families, and creating spaces of welcome and belonging. These expressions are not separate from church life, they are part of it.
Partnership, Not Ownership
We believe we are stronger when we walk alongside others. Rather than trying to do everything ourselves, we support and stand with mission partners; locally, nationally, and internationally, who bring particular gifts and calling.
These relationships are shaped by prayer, accountability, and long-term commitment.
