About Us

Who we are

We are a church serving Linlithgow and surrounding areas. As followers of Jesus we strive to be more like him, with the help of the Holy Spirit. As such, we are a people called to love and support one another, just as God loves us: freely and unconditionally. Everyone is welcome at St. John’s to worship God and serve one another as we work out our journey of faith together.

We are a church that values, enjoys & cares for our world. We recognise that every person is unique and precious in the sight of God who longs to welcome them back into His family. As part of the worldwide church, we work with others to share the love of Christ, seeking to bring people & God together.

We believe that we should encourage and seek the best for each other, setting aside time for fellowship, fun & celebration.

What we believe

Core Values

The commandment written in the Mosaic law and endorsed by Jesus Christ. ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ Matthew 23: 37-39
Our understanding is that it is God’s intention that all should live in relationship with Him – that He loves all, ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life’.

Loving God

We worship Him together and individually
We commune with Him in personal and corporate prayer
We study scripture to learn more about Him and how we should live as disciples of the Lord Jesus
We care for His creation including His people

Loving People

We care for people in need locally and in other parts of the world
We tell others about Jesus and our belief that in knowing Him we are drawn back into relationship with God
We introduce others to Jesus, then teach them to be his disciples
